I'm fully disgusted. I totally hated Oliver long before any of these poseurs ever showed up.

Ha ha, Steve is good. I have to say, hes not far off.Theres a few parts that are cool, but the rest of it prohibits me from listening twice. I have a hard time believing Steve is your first hater. Pwned. <<<(Cheesy internet geek lingo)

Wow, this stuff sucks.Your voice is so whiny, it grates my ears.. Everyone thinks they are a rock star these days. Also, your little stories are amateur 1st grade scribbles. Please just take this crap down and volunteer at a burn unit.On second thought, stay away from good people.
Oliver writes:
Congratulations, Steve, you're my very first hater! Thanks for investing so much of your personal time on my website.

Hey. Here's what I think. Her Hands Will Feed Your Mule is a bit too dark and plodding. The title track is okay and catchy, but I find it too rappy for my tastes. (Katie says it reminds her of the Gorillaz, for whatever that's worth.) Maybe it's Maybe, Grind, Little Moonbeam and The Only Thing are more contemplative, I like them fine. Sara's Wet Dream, Blue, Everything's Falling, Blisters, and Poison Pen are all songs I've heard you perform live, so I have positive connotations for them, warm fuzzies from sitting around at PJ's. Some of my favourite songs on the album (Playtime, Nobody Loves You, and Blisters) have a very TMBG feel to them, with lots of different vocal tracks and diverse musical styles. You Will Be So Happy reminds me of your Moonshine Flush songs. Of all the songs I haven't heard before, Lady Luck runs away with the prize. That sample of the Chinese girl at the beginning with the backbeat is awesome. Speaking of samples, I was hoping there's be a list of sources on the liner, but there's not. I recognized Tom Brokaw and Reagan's Challenger Disaster speech, but where did the Chinese girl come from, who's that moaning on Grind (is it a sample, or Jody in flagrante delecto), and what about the PSA-sounding educational film snippets? Final score: 10. Congratulations!
Oliver writes:
Glad you like it. Not sure where I got the PSA stuff, some sort of cheesy meditation thing. The Chinese singing at the beginning & end of Lady Luck was recorded in the street by my friend Yoav. The moans are all from my famed Chamber of Love, a place I keep down in Kenting.

The music is very good, but the graphic design is magic. Who is this Matt Flint dude? He should be getting half your royalties (which unfortunately would not be a lot, given how much you're charging for the CD). Great work Matt. You too Oliver.

Oliver writes:
What do you mean, Dave? The royalties from this project have already paid for my second Villa on the French Riviera.

I love the new music, and I want to father your love child.

The smell is incense & smog. Mostly smog. Okay, there's no incense, but if there was it would be sandlewood.

No, unfortunately I won't be in OK this summer, I'll be in MN for a little while, though. Haven't been stateside in a while, it should be fun & interesting.

I'm glad that you enjoy my music. I'm assuming that you do since you're listening & downloading the "Small Apocalypse" album for free.

But, then again, maybe you don't approve. Maybe sometimes you donate money purely out of spite! Well, I'm okay with spite-based donations. They're like resentment-fucks, but they pay the light bill & don't end with unwanted pregnancies.

Whatever your reasons, I appreciate the gesture, no matter how small!

Making records isn't cheap, let alone maintaining a webpage, getting the gear I need & of course, living itself. I'm not going to guilt trip you and I'm not going to lecture you about karma. The world owes me nothing, you're not a money press & I'm not a tip jar.

I will, however, thank you from the bottom of my heart and virtual wallet if you support what I'm doing here. You are, without a doubt I can muster, aces!

Peace. And so on.
